At Millennium this week, I curated PLANTASIA VOL. 1: an exhibition and screening by artists who use the outdoors as a tool. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Curating is a good feeling. Especially when artists are engaged and excited to be apart of it. That they appreciate your thought and time by giving it their thought and time. So it’s a two way channel. Emily McDonald <\/a>and Rica Maestas<\/a> were super great work with. The legendary MM Serra<\/a>, Director of Filmmakers Coop, came and it was the greatest gift of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I’m 35 and I am renting a small, modest, old, oceanfront beach cottage for a week in October in Nags Head, NC where I am from. The plan is to shoot the 10 minute short film Joe and I are writing together. It’s about two Sisters who live in the cottage. One is a painter and one is a writer. They are famous on the island. A mysterious man washes up on the beach and challenges their bond. This is me giving myself an artist residency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In March of this year I was in a three woman painting exhibition, Her Ironic World, at the Dare Arts Center in Manteo, NC. It’s in an old courthouse. Very beautiful tall wooden walls with partitions and paneling. This was with artists Reddawn and Jasmin Miller.
